YEAR 6 CAMP 2010

Dear Parents,

As you know the Year 6 students will be away on camp at Bannockburn from the 15th to the 19th of November. (5 days and 4 nights). There is a lot of planning; costing and organisation that goes into this and so the following costs are an estimate. Hopefully this may answer some initial questions parents have.

Parent Help.
I need at least 5 parents each day of the camp. As I am the only teacher going it is important that the parents who come are on site at night. We will be cooking all the meals so it is expected that the parent helpers will help with these and supervising duties. If you can come for part of the camp or want to swap with your partner half way through that is fine. The adults will be charged for food, accommodation and if travelling on the bus that cost as well. Though camp is a lot of fun it also requires lots of energy. I will need lots of help from those parents who come.

I have attached a menu and timetable for the 5days. If your child has allergies or there is some difficulty with the menu please let me know.

I also need the medical consent filled out and returned to school. If there is anything you are concerned about please e-mail or phone me. E-mails are preferable. klieshout@shsinv.school.nz

I have also added the camp cost, as you can see I am trying to bring the cost down. It is for 5 days so is a bit more costly.This is to be paid to the office the week before camp. If cost is a factor contact Mr Forde or myself as it is the school policy that all children get this opportunity.
